Skyline HS LRCII teacher
Hello families!
I DO NOT know where October and November went! Did you see them fly by? I am glad that we are starting to get into some set routines and growing as a class. It will be 2nd semester before we know it! Below are a few things we have been doing as a class. :) *Spartanbucks started in November! Our class makes and delivers coffee on Wednesday afternoons during 6th period (Vocational class). Students are in a rotation and should have a turn at least once a month. We also have a few students that are doing some special jobs on Friday's to help prepare for the upcoming week. This is a very influential program that helps students with social skills (conversation) and on-the-job skills (following directions). Our wonderful SLP, Julie Sadoff, and OT, Courtney Waugh, co-lead the program. *Academics--we have reading groups! Each student is a part of a group that reads one book (approximately each week, some a little longer). We focus on vocabulary and finding information from the text to answer questions. Come January/February, the department will be rolling out a new reading curriculum! Math--besides IEP goals, which several of them focus on functional math skills with money, we have started
