Skyline HS LRCII teacher
Hello hello! Last week was rough, but we made it through! It was SO nice to "see" most of you on Friday and I really enjoyed everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to me. What really made me happy was seeing students that I hadn't seen yet--like Chris and Cayden! :) I have started setting 'check-in' meetings with students (and parents), especially for those that have several different classes. If you would like to schedule a time to meet with me on Microsoft teams, you can either comment in the "General" thread of teams or send me an e-mail: Specific assignments are being assigned for students in Raz Plus (reading), L3 (math)--THIS ONE is NEW this week!, Boardmaker (life skills, vocational), and Boom cards (all subjects). All of the links will be posted in the "Online Resources" tab. Some assignments MAY be too easy for your student, and some may be TOO difficult. Please let me know if either is the case so I can find more appropriate assignments to meet the specific needs of your student.
We will continue with our weekly TEAMS meetings on Friday's, but they are changing to 12:30 pm due to time constraints with scheduling. I have already created the next one for this Friday, May 1st. As always, stay safe and enjoy learning while in your PJs! :) Mrs. H

Hello Students and Families!
I hope each and every one of you had a relaxing and fun-filled Spring break, even given that it was a "staycation". I spent a lot of time with my family doing different projects around the house and yard (our garden is starting to look great), as well as took some time to rest and gear up for doing remote teaching! This week starts something new for all of us--it is called Continuous Learning. I will be contacting each family/student to inquire about creating a Continuous Learning Plan (CLP) for the remainder of the school year. I will create remote learning opportunities for each student, as well as the whole class, to participate in while at home. This may look like: pre-recorded videos, getting supplies/packets to you, and/or providing a powerpoint presentation for you and your family to follow along in order to focus on your specific learning needs. I also intend for us to continue our weekly social meetings on Friday's at 11am. I will be sending out an e-mail tomorrow to every student/family to inform of my weekly office hours---times specifically set out to communicate and support! PLEASE do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions/concerns or suggestions about remote learning. Take care and stay safe! I am thinking of all of you and miss you SO very much!!! Mrs. H :) Hello students and families!
This has been one crazy ride thus far, but I am so happy that I am still able to see your faces and talk to you every Friday on our Zoom social meetings. We will continue to do these every Friday at 11am. Remember--this Friday we will converse for 15 minutes and then Ms. Natalia will be doing brain gym with all of us that want to participate! We need to focus our brains to learn even more so while at home! This week I will continue to post EELR's on the Online Resources page. A survey also will be sent out to families asking general questions about support and access at home. We are working our way towards online instruction starting on April 20th (after Spring break). We (teachers) are still collaborating as to what this looks like for each of you. Thank you for your patience and open communication so we can provide ongoing learning opportunities during the closure. Please don't hesitate to contact me for any questions/concerns or even just to say hi! I encourage every student to have his/her own e-mail (or one that can be accessed through a parent e-mail). Write to me about how you are doing or how you are spending your time (besides playing video games and/or sleeping)! Next week is Spring break; write to me about your plans or if your plans changed (and what they changed to). Take care, stay safe and "see" you Friday at 11am! :) |
